Fat Camel Cafe

Fat Camel is a must visit if you are in Whangarei (especially if you are vegetarian like me) - absolutely amazing Israeli food! Their falafel pitas are my go to lunch meal and they are so tasty and are on the table in no time. Plenty of other things on the menu too, lots to choose from, and the quality of the food is very consistent. They also have a cabinet with yummy cakes & slices etc, and their coffee is amazing too - they have won awards for this several times. 5 stars! Go there!

My girlfriends and I went to Fat Camel for an evening out, and all of us thought our food was absolutely delicious!! Will be back!

It was a good place for lunch because it was not expensive. The chicken I ordered was tender and juicy, very tasty. The service was good and it was a good value for money.

Great food, I was really excited to try something so different, and it was a great place for a vegetarian. The portions could have been a little larger but the service and taste was great.

By far our favourite place to eat out in Whangarei. Quality, price, service and flavour are all exceptional. The falafel pitas are standout, but all the pita pockets are great value, full to the brim with top quality middle eastern salads and meat (if you get the lamb or chicken options). The main meals here are also great, with the tasting plates giving a top array of salads and meat. Another plus is that you can sit outside on Quality St and enjoy the weather if it is a nice day. Cannot recommend this place anymore highly.
