Fat Camel Cafe

The food is delicious! Authentic Middle Eastern and Israeli food. It's a great place to dine, for lunch or dinner. The restaurant doesn't look very big from the outside, but it can cater for quite a crowd. Have dined there on my own, as well as with a big crowd. Always received the same friendly service. The menu caters for both vegetarians and meat-eaters. Unlike some restaurants, the Fat Camel has a great mixed menu, where vegetarian's have quite a choice to choose from. Highly recommended.

Had a pita pit from here and it was jam packed full with ingredients and flavor would recommend

By far our favourite place to eat out in Whangarei. Quality, price, service and flavour are all exceptional. The falafel pitas are standout, but all the pita pockets are great value, full to the brim with top quality middle eastern salads and meat (if you get the lamb or chicken options). The main meals here are also great, with the tasting plates giving a top array of salads and meat. Another plus is that you can sit outside on Quality St and enjoy the weather if it is a nice day. Cannot recommend this place anymore highly.

I have walked passed the Fat Camel Cafe many times, but today we went inside for lunch. The menu is truly different than what other cafes offer. I can recommend their Jerusalem Mixed Grill. No, it's not the normal all-day breakfast that other cafes offer up, but a mixture of chicken hearts and livers cooked in spices. Absolutely delicious. I tasted a Camel Kebab as well. again, very tasty indeed. Highly recommended. I am already thinking about an evening meal here, with a group of family and friends. Great atmosphere!
