General Info

You have to head to the suburbs to try one of Wellingtons best new restaurant/ wine bars. Set in an 85 year old brick building, Cashmere Lounge has done a wonderful job of capturing the character and enhancing the aesthetics of the original structure. A delicious à la carte menu combined with a superb wine list and excellent service provide a wonderful and relaxed dining experience. The menu focuses on locally sourced produce with European, and Kiwi flavours, expertly crafted by Head Chef- Vincent Good. Polished Victorian Ash sitting on a formed concrete bar create the industrial setting for this relaxing bar. Pilsner Urquell is cold shipped from the Czech republic for the house pour and the fridge holds a range of International and craft beers. The wine list is large, international and varied. There is a small cellar selection of rare and older vintages that is growing by the day! We have a range of cocktails available and a premium selection of spirits. Finish off the perfect evening in the lounge with a single malt or a port.

Great food and atmosphere. Outstanding service. Fig and feta entree superb. Duck beautiful and fish perfectly cooked. Truffle chips are a must! Would definitely recommend! Freshness evident in every dish.

I was taken here by a friend when visiting Wellington on a dark, stormy night. It is secluded away in Khandallah but based on the number of people in that night it is obviously a local favourite. Despite the exposed brick walls and high beams it was cosy and warm. the staff are very helpful and friendly and the wine list was pretty good with a cocktail list to support it.

The food was well prepared and original but I felt it was quite fussy with a large collection of ingredients fighting for dominance on my main. I had the venison with tamarillo, valrhona and polenta where all the components were well prepared but the tamarillo was overpowering and this mixed with the jus made the dish poorly balanced. We also had a vegetable side that had a huge spoon of creme fraiche covering it which meant the dish was swimming in dairy which was pretty off putting. I think it has some good dishes but perhaps we chose poorly.

We went for a family dinner with five in our group. We all had something different to eat for the main. It is a testiment to the restaurant that every plate was totally consumed and enjoyed. Nothing was left on any plate. Good sized portions.

Great addition to Khnadallah very very nice spot real close to the rail lines. Doubles up as a cafe, bar and a nice place to get a nice meal. Great stuff all round.

If you want a guaranteed great night out with beautiful food and wine, this is the place to come to. The lamb blackstrap is lovely, the venison so tasty, the beetroot ravioli divine. Great food and great service.
