Otago Museum

There are national treasures here and the exhibits are well maintained and interesting. There is a mummy there too. A good cafe is vital for families and a play area is included on the ground floor. We have been there many times to explore section by section because there is so much interesting things to see.

Thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Such an amazing experience. Really enjoyed Discovery World. Great value for money. Easy access and great location within Dunedin. Would highly recommend taking children along to.

Great museum, our toddler loves his visits (usually on rainy weekend days). They have great exhibits, including animal attic which is very popular with kids. The cafe is nice enough, with a good little play area to keep the little ones entertained. The museum is very pram accessible. A trip into the science centre (paid admission) is a must too. The tropical forest has lots of butterflies which are very cool to see.

Cafe has lovely food. Nice selection of drinks and bites to eat. Very busy during holidays. Coffee good. Staff helpful- depends on when you go.

Nice coffee. Reasonable cabinet food. Young, but friendly staff. Great spot as you can take the kids for a browse through the museum and then refuel with a drink and a snack. They do cute little kids snack boxes which although pricey, are a great option for the little ones.
