Nestled in seven acres of beautiful woodlands and gardens, Fairfield House is one of Nelson's most prestigious historic homes. Its spacious verandas and unique observation tower have gracefully overlooked the city since 1872. Now, lovingly restored to its former glory, Fairfield House stands as a unique tribute to community activism. Fairfield was blessed as a place of peace by His Holiness The Dalai Lama when he visited here in 1996.

Weddings

-Fairfield House is a magical venue for any wedding. We specialise in working with clients to assist in making their day perfect. The diversity of the spaces we can offer you, means you can tailor the day to completely suit your own taste and needs. There are no catering or alcohol restrictions and you can arrive from 7am on the day to prepare. We can also arrange for you to come the previous day to prepare and set up. Just mention this to us when you enquire. Our licence and your hire of the premises is until midnight.

Kamahi Cottage is a  private, peaceful B&B and luxury farm stay cottage in a beautiful garden setting.  It's 30 minutes from the Waitomo Caves & 15 minutes from Otorohanga with spectacular views over the Waipa River valley and mountains to the west. 

The cottage is fully self-contained with an upstairs queen bedroom, large downstairs  bathroom, fully equipped kitchenette, lounge & dining area and top quality sofa that converts to a very comfortable queen bed for 2 extra guests. (All linen is provided). 
 Hammock chairs on the veranda are ideal for relaxing and taking in the panoramic views.

There's free secure WiFi, sound system/CD collection, TV, heating/air conditioning  and a free mini bar.  Daily home baking, specialty teas, freshly roasted coffee beans and fresh flowers  are always provided.

Free full breakfasts (continental plus a large selection of cooked choices) are included in the rates and available whenever it suits guests.

 Dinners can also be catered by prior request - extra charges apply
2-course dinners ($50 per person)
3-course dinners ($65 per person)
(Dinner can be delivered to the cottage at any time to suit guests - 24 hours notice required).
