Opened in 2015, Walter Nash Centre is a modern multi-purpose facility developed to cater for both regional and national events, community activities and programmes.
Our facility has 5 indoor basketball/netball courts in two separate stadiums, 11 outdoor courts and the Walter Nash Centre Fitness Suite.
We have the Taita Library with 20 public computers with adjoining meeting room spaces seating 200.
FREE Wi-Fi and FREE parking and the Blue River Cafe serving a varity of food options.
The Walter Nash Centre is located in Taita, a 200 metre walk from the Taita train station, and only 100 metres from the Taita shopping centre. We are located within five minutes&rsquo; walk from Fraser Park, the largest recreational sports ground in the Wellington region.

We offer you long or short term stays at our modern, stand alone,comfortable apartment style cottage set amongst Olive trees and lavender on our quarter acre property. Cottage has full kitchen with fridge/freezer and your own laundry, open plan living, Queen-size bed in separate bedroom with en suite. Quiet street.
We are two minutes from the city with cafe bars and restaurants, information centre, Museum and Art Gallery 18 hole golf course in 80acres of beautiful Queens Park, Rugby Park, Aquatic centre and Southlands Sport Stadium & Velodrome.
A five minute drive to Invercargill Airport, Southland Hospital and close to excellent trout fishing rivers. 10 mins from Oreti Beach. The Southern Scenic Route nearby. 
Pleasant drive to Catlins, Gateway to Stewart Island. 2 hours from mountains and lakes.
 Shops and bus-stop just around the corner. Bike hire nearby. 20mins to Bluff Oyster & Southland Seafood Festival venue. 10min to Teratonga Raceway and 4 golf course. within 10km. Great base for Burt Munro Rally and The Tour of Southland cycle tour.
