Peter Clark started this well-known Whakatane Company in 1958 and was joined a year later by Alfred Richmond. They were only upholsterers to begin with, but with a growing reputation for service and skills and employing new expertise, expansion was and still is ongoing. New Products were introduced for sale and new premises found to house them.

In 1967 the business was moved to its current location in Boon Street, where it has expanded showroom space and workshop. Clients can browse the extensive sample ranges, talk to the upholsterers directly and view the work happening all in one place. Current General Manager Keith Richmond joined his father in 1967 and has over 30 years experience in recovering furniture, styles, colours and techniques. Peter Clark deals with leading brands such as Warwick, David Shaw, James Dunlop, Mokum Textiles, Bianca Lorenne and Resene.
