Clive Studios allows you to be based between the 3 key areas of Napier, Hastings and Havelock North, as well as being near the Hawkes Bay cycle trails, wineries and Clive Village which offers, cafes, bars and boutique shops.


We are the nearest motel to the renowned Cape Kidnappers where guests can experience the world's largest, most accessible Gannet nesting place. The 15-minute drive to the Cape takes you through Haumoana, Clifton and Te Awanga where you will find wineries, art studios and great beach walks.

Within 8 kms are two award winning wineries both offering very unique experiences; Elephant Hill with its dramatic modern restaurant and tasting room, or Clearview one of the older vineyards in the region that offers a relaxed beach experience. 

Clive is the ideal place to base yourself as you can visit all of that Hawkes Bay offers, whether it be the Farmers market every Sunday, strolling around the newly created Wetlands area of Waitangi Park or visiting one of the many attractions such as the British Car Museum, local specialised growers such as The Olivery, Te Mata Figs, the Honey Centre and orchards with great gate sales.

Many guests use Clive as the base for their cycling excursions.  3 of the 4  Hawkes Bay off road cycle trails start at Clive and we work with a bike hire company who can drop bikes off to you here at Clive Studios and customize a bike suited to your requirements.   Whether you want a week of cycling or just half a day, we are happy to organise this for you.
