Lone Star Cafe & Bar

Whilst not bad by any stretch, Lone Star in Albany is average. The staff do a good job, and were friendly and quick. The interior was quite dark though, and not especially comfortable, and when we visited it seemed to be quite cold. On the plus side, the food arrived quickly - but was definitely average in terms of quality. Overall, could've been better.

Always really good quality food with good quality ingredients. Service is a bit slow on busy nights, but the staff are accommodating and try to check up on your table while you wait, to ensure you wait is as comfortable as possible. Good funky music playing throughout the night, and the restaurant is family friendly. Love coming here.

The ribs are the highlight of the restaurant. Lonestar is suitable for all occassions; kids birthdays, milestones, engagement and wedding parties, literally any event. The bar staff are a breath of fresh air and very entertaining and customer focussed. A good selection of drinks, although some of the cocktails are a tad expensive. Service isnt slow, but it isnt quick either.

The thing that really lets this place down is the service, last time I went we waited an hour and a half to be seated even though we had a booking. Not worth it, and to make things worse all they offered us was one complimentary desert for the wait. Bar was packed, environment was not good, too full. Food was great but the portions are massive! Not worth going due to the wait.
