Our children and our visitors from the USA enjoyed the ferry trip from Devonport to Auckland CBD. The ferries are good size, staff were accomodating. The trip is about 15 mins one way. Location is wonderful as it is near a lot of establishments like restaurants, parks, beach and playground.

Have been on countless trips to and from Devonport as well as Waiheke and Great Barrier Island, always good service even when the Gt Barrier sailings were cancelled after ours due to massive swells, staff and crew are helpful, professional and sights are fantastic on a gorgeous Auckland sunny day.

We hardly ever drive into the city we prefer to make a day of it starting with a ferry ride across from Devonport. We have never had a bad experiencem the ferry is always clean and on time.

I havent had to use the ferry for work purposes, purely for social reasons only. We use the ferry to travel from birkenhead into the city so that the kids can sight see on the boat ride over. They love it and we stop in town for a treat and a play before we head back home on the ferry again. It can get really slippery when its wet weather so be careful as you're boarding and exiting the ferry.

The pricing is atrocious to get somewhere like Rangitoto or Tiri Tiri Matangi. The ferries themselves are comfortable and the staff and very hospitable, which slightly makes up for the cost.
