Staglands Wildlife Reserve & Cafe

We went here as a family and loved it so much we brought a family pass! So many animals to see, my 2 year old loves it! She likes Jock the horse the most. A nice cafe with good bite size treats and her favorite a nice cold ice block!

My wife and I brought membership passes for here. Our 2 year old loves it, the peacocks, cows, pigs, horses and donkeys! Massive place with great staff and free tractor rides.

Such an awesome place to bring the kids! Miss 2.5 had the best day, loved getting close to and feeding the animals. Cafe and food lovely too, just make sure you dress warm as it can be very cold!

This place is amazing. Its set in the bush, so you have nature all around you, including the river/stream, rocks for kids to explore, ponds full of birdlife..... so beautiful, and great photo opportunities. The farm animals are friendly and the little pigs that roam around are too adorable. My boys loved being able to cuddle bunnies, and we all enjoyed walking through the historic buildings and seeing the old tools. The goats were too funny, jumping and walking along the tops of fences!! Cafe was a nice spot to rest and grab a coffee. Boys loved the swing bridge. Can easily spend half a day here, if not most of the day. Highly recommend visiting this place.

Attended a birthday party here yesterday in a roo. At the end of the cafe - great party highchairs provided for my two boys and lovely staff. The drive is slightly daunting and although it's only about 20km from Upper Hutt allow plenty of time and take it easy is a beautiful drive with some tight turns!
