My favourite place to go! I generally go atleast once a year. You can purchase food for the animals and trout as well as marshmellows to cook on the fire. Beautiful place. They also have a free tractor ride that goes through a river! . Great for kids or any animal lover. Springs the best time to go because of all the new baby animals. They have a cafe but you can also bring your own picnic. Careful in the deer park. The goats try to take your bag of food. A fun outing to spend hours!.
Animals youll see: ducks. Swans. Kia. Peacocks (even a white one). Guniea fowl. Chickens. Guese. Kune kune pigs. Sheep. Donkeys. Horses. Trout. Rabbits. Guinea pigs. Deer. Goats. Bulls. Turtles. An lots more!. If its wet wear gumboots!.

Attended a birthday party here yesterday in a roo. At the end of the cafe - great party highchairs provided for my two boys and lovely staff. The drive is slightly daunting and although it's only about 20km from Upper Hutt allow plenty of time and take it easy is a beautiful drive with some tight turns!

Staglands is amazing. Lots of personable animals that you can feed. A one of a kind experience in Wellington. Highly recommended

A must do for locals and visitors.
We visited again recently and whilst the road in and out can be a little narrow you are rewarded with this great place.
Free parking and friendly staff as well as a good value on-site cafe.
There are animals from deer to peacocks and a great place to feed the animals or walk around.
