We also have a modern, 75-bed hospital level, aged-care residential facility as well as the Nurse Maude Hospice. Nurse Maude provides community nursing and homecare services to more than 400,000 people in the Canterbury region. Our reputation for delivering consistently high-quality nursing and homecare is due to the experience, professionalism, and sheer drive of our people.

Homecare is available to anyone recovering from an illness, accident or surgery, has a life-limiting illness or needs long term support to help retain independence and live safely in familiar surroundings.In partnership with you and your family/whanau, a Registered Nurse develops a plan that focuses on your strengths and abilities. Your care plan can be reviewed on request.&nbsp;

Caring for the community since 1896 Keeping people out of hospital and residential care and in their own homes and community wherever possible was the promise made by Nurse Maude when she started New Zealands first district nursing and home care service in 1896 Today that promise is at the heart of our homecare services across the Nelson and Marlborough region, providing domestic assistance and personal care with skill and compassion.

For our residents the Nurse Maude Hospital is their home; a place where they can have a sense of purpose and receive quality nursing care provided in a safe and compassionate environment. Specialist palliative care and support are provided free of charge in our hospital. Long term care is funded by the Ministry of Health.&nbsp;Talk to your doctor, public hospital or other health professional about being referred to our care. Short-term care can also be provided for up to 28 days under the Respite Care Scheme and is also available for those who wish to pay privately.

Hi I'm Donna and I am a fully qualified Home Educator with years of parenting and grandparent experience. I am Mum to three grown up children and I'm also lucky enough to have a gorgeous 7 year old granddaughter who I've had the privilege to help bring up and nurture.

Becoming a home-based educator has been the best decision. I've always loved caring for people little, big and elderly. I joined PORSE nearly 4 years ago and since then have completed the New Zealand Certificate ECE Level 4 and cared for many families. Prior to joining PORSE I spent the last 9 years working with the Elderly as an in home assist for Nurse Maude, which I have loved as I appreciate the elderly and all they offer.

I look forward to working with parents to develop a learning plan specifically for your child.

What I offer
I provide a caring, nurturing, fun, learning environment and a large shaded outdoor area. We have a variety of resources and enjoy crafts, painting, cooking, our new garden, sandpit and fantastic swing and slide set.

I utilize the local community and incorporate lots of creative experiences in my programme. As we have birds, a dog Elmo and cats, animals play a part in my programme I will be providing. I will cater specifically for your individual child and ensure they make the most out of their time spent in my care.
