Our Hurrell Teamwear brand allows our customers to tap into the endless uniform possibilities available through the sublimation process. Sublimation allows us to match your corporate / club colours without the hassle of sourcing your uniform from stock service options. Furthermore, there are no additional costs for embroidery, printing, etc as all artwork, including the pattern, is directly applied to the fabric giving a professional and seamless finish.

Traditional screen printing covers fabric with ink, making it nearly impossible for air or moisture to pass through. The sublimation process dyes the fabric with colour, which helps maintain the fabrics wicking characteristics (the ability to breathe and let moisture through), ideal for sport or trade industry; because the process dyes each thread of the fabric, there is no peeling, flaking or noticeable colour change. When the sublimating cycle (including heating and pressure) is completed, the image has been transferred to the garment and has actually become a part of the fabric. You can run your finger across the surface of sublimation and feel nothing. For high quality printing on breathable fabric, sublimation cannot be beat.

- Design is virtually unlimited. From simple shapes and colours to blends, shadows and photographic images.    
- Numbering can also be achieved, which eliminates the need to have hot, sweaty plastic numbers on the back.
- Logos, names, numbers and sponsors can be included in the design in full colour.
- Depending on your artwork, prices can be cheaper than traditional paneled garments, where you have the additional costs of embroidery, numbers, lettering and screen-printing.

Stitchin' Stuff is a retail shop in Te Awamutu - a town about 30kms south of Hamilton City. 

At Stitchin' Stuff we aim to inspire your creativity and to provide the materials you need to achieve your creative desires.  Our team has the ability to assist you, from helping with colours to pattern selection and to choosing the best sewing machine for you.  Whatever your skill level - we have the project for you.  We are not a warehouse or a barn - we sell quality dressmaking, patchwork and needlework supplies, with knowledgeable staff that can help you select the right project, fabric and trim for your project.

We have a great range of embroidery kits and patterns including hardanger patterns, a range of silk ribbons and hand dyed threads.  We stock DMC threads, including  fabulous  metallics, and a range of Zweigart fabrics for your embroidery needs.  We sell our embroidery fabrics in a size to suit you - we cut to your measurements - width and length - and don't go without having your fabric edges overlocked - all part of the service at Stitchin' Stuff.


At Stitchin Stuff we sell and service Bernina Sewing Machines and Accessories and run a great Bernina Club and other sewing and craft classes (see classes).  Between the Bernette and Bernina range of machines we can provide a sewing machine for whatever your skill level.  We take the time to recommend the right machine for you and to ensure that you know how to use it.  All our Bernina's come with basic classes and our 'hands on' Bernina Club Classes.  We also stock most of the accessories available for your Bernina and, because we use the machines ourselves, we know which accessory is best for your needs and we are happy to demonstrate their use.

Our patchwork fabric ranges from country to brights  and hand dyes with a good range of florals too.  We have a good assortment of patterns and accessories for your patchwork and quilting needs. We offer regular beginners classes.

In 2007, we added Dressmaking fabrics and patterns to our product range.  We love dressmaking ourselves and we stock a good range of quality dress fabrics.  In addition we can order specialty fabrics for your bridal party needs.  We stock Butterick, New Look, Burda, Simplicity and Kwik Sew Patterns.

In addition, don't go past the jewellery beads and findings, or the bag patterns and kitsets.  Both very popular at the moment - we just love beading and embellishment and there are so many exquisite trims to choose from - come and  have a browse!!  We are easy to find on Te Awamutu's main Street  (#54 Alexandra St)  between the ANZ bank and Salvadors - a delightful French coffee shop.
