Wa Ora Montessori is the only Montessori school in New Zealand to offer an education from playgroup right through to Year 13 at the same location.

Capital Montessori offers an authentic, high quality Montessori preschool programme for children aged under 6 and a playgroup for 0-3 year olds.The School combines a Montessori philosophy with New Zealand's National Early Childhood Education Curriculum - Te Whariki. Our programme is designed to open your child up to life - nurturing their independence, confidence, creativity and curiosity.

Located in Kingston, close to the surrounding suburbs of Brooklyn, Mornington, Berhampore, Island Bay, Mount Cook and Newtown, the school is set in a beautiful, peaceful environment, with large outdoor areas and classroom gardens. The school opened in 1987. We have two well-resourced 3-6 year classrooms - Kowhai and Koru - with qualified and experienced teachers, and around 25 children in each class. Children attend preschool Monday to Friday from 8.30am until 1pm or 3pm each day. We also have an infant and toddler 0-3 playgroup facilitated by a specialist AMI Montessori 0-3 teacher that runs several morning sessions each week.

PAUA offers free support and advice for Educators. Parents pay Educators directly - not via PAUA. As such, many of our Educators are Grandparents looking after their grandchildren.
