Stuart has been the Member of Parliament for the Kaikoura electorate since 2014.

In Parliament Stuart is the Opposition Spokesperson for EQC and Civil Defence. He is also a member of several caucus committees including the Agricultural Caucus Committee, the Regional Development Caucus Committee, GLOBE, and the Rural Broadband Initiative working group.  Stuart is also the National party spokesperson for Viticulture.

Having grown up on a Mid-Canterbury sheep farm, Stuart has been involved in primary industry his whole life. He was a sheep and deer farmer before relocating to Marlborough and moving into grape-growing, later setting up his own wine-making business. Subsequently he was Chair of New Zealand Winegrowers, inducted as a Fellow for services to the wine industry, President of the New Zealand Grape Growers Council, and Chair of Wine Marlborough Ltd.

Stuart has been involved in many community initiatives. He was Chair of the Marlborough Water Augmentation Project, and also Chair of the Southern Valleys Irrigation Scheme Marlborough District Council sub-committee. 

Stuart was a founding member and co-spokesperson for Save Our Services, a group which successfully advocated for the retention of 24/7 acute surgical and orthopaedic services at Wairau Hospital.

He lives in Blenheim with his wife Julie and their three children.

'Funded by Parliamentary Service'

Nathan Guy is the MP for Otaki and was honoured to be a Minister in the National Government from 2009 to 2017. The opportunity to work hard and achieve positive results for New Zealand's productive sectors was Nathan's major focus, as the passionate Minister for Primary Industries for five years. Some highlights include; * Gaining access for chilled meat into China and regaining access for meat exports to Iran * Modernising the Animal Welfare Act so practices better meet consumer expectations, such as bobby calf management * Introduced a Border Clearance levy making passengers fund more border services * Highest ever Biosecurity investment resulting in more people, dogs and technology on the front line with strong industry engagement * Supporting rural communities through adverse events like the dairy downturn, prolonged North Canterbury drought, earthquakes and floods. Nathan was a strong voice for water storage projects and helped fund Central Plains stages 1 &amp; 2. * Leading the Government's response to a blackmail threat to infant formula, ending in a successful prosecution * Introduced cameras and other digital tools to deliver greater transparency in the commercial fishing sector Nathan also held other Ministerial positions during his nine years in office, including Minister of Civil Defence, Internal Affairs, Immigration, Veteran Affairs and Racing as well as the Associate Minister for Economic Development, of Justice, and Transport. Nathan entered Parliament as a list MP in 2005 and was Junior then Senior Whip prior to becoming a Minister under Sir John Key. Nathan won the Otaki Electorate seat in 2008 and won the seat for the fourth time in the 2017 general election with a comfortable 6,156 vote majority. He is a strong advocate for Horowhenua and Kapiti and is most proud of his role in the Kapiti Expressway development, which is transforming the region. Nathan had an extensive political career before entering Parliament, previously serving eight years on the Horowhenua District Council. He also has a background in agriculture, having managed the family dairy and beef farm and receiving a Winston Churchill Fellowship to study beef exports to the United States. He enjoys spending time with his wife Erica and three children, and likes to keep fit. He has completed several marathons with the highlight being the 2015 New York Marathon, where he ran the 42km in 3 hours and 56 minutes. In 2017 he completed the challenging Tararua Southern Crossing (from Kaitoke to Otaki Forks) in nine-and-a-half hours. **Otaki Electorate** The two districts that make up the Otaki Electorate are quite distinct. The northern district of Horowhenua contains rich farmland centred on the township of Levin, and encompasses the Foxton and Waitarere communities. The southern Kapiti Coast district includes Paraparaumu, Waikanae together with the electorate's heart, bustling shoppers destination, Otaki. The history of the Otaki region is a rich combination of Maori culture, early colonial settlements and the ongoing development of an extensive farming sector. It is within commuting distance of the Capital, Wellington and Palmerston North. The Electorate is known for abundant agricultural and horticultural development, a growing manufacturing sector and a comparatively high population of over 65s. Funded by Parliamentary Service

Maritime NZ is a Crown entity, governed by an independent board appointed by the Governor-General on the recommendation of the Minister of Transport.

We are a Crown entity set up in 1993 and are governed by a five-member Board appointed by the Minister of Transport under the Maritime Transport Act 1994.

We have approximately 190 staff located in our 10 regional offices and Wellington head office, at our Marine Pollution Response Centre in Auckland and our Rescue Coordination Centre New Zealand in Lower Hutt.

It is our mission to lead and support the maritime community to take responsibility for ensuring our seas are safe, secure and clean, on behalf of all New Zealanders.

Maritime NZ has three key roles:
1. Regulation and compliance
We help to develop and maintain the national safety, security and environmental protection regulations that govern the operation of vessels, ports and offshore installations in New Zealand waters. We support, encourage and require operator compliance with those regulations by:

licensing and certifying seafarers and commercial operations
educating the maritime community
auditing operators and service providers such as ship surveyors
investigating incidents to try to stop them happening again
enforcing the regulations to hold people to account for their actions.

2. Provision of maritime safety infrastructure
We maintain New Zealands coastal navigation aids to shipping (principally coastal lights), the national maritime distress and safety radio service, and an emergency locator beacon detection network for land, sea and air.

3. Response to incidents
We provide a national land, sea and air search and rescue coordination service. We also manage the development and improvement of national maritime incident and oil spill response capability, and lead New Zealands responses to significant maritime incidents and emergencies, including oil spills.

Hon Kelvin Davis is a successful former teacher and school Principal who turned a struggling Northland school around, and enabled the students to achieve beyond their potential.

He has held roles on a number of Select Committees including Maori Affairs (Deputy-Chair), Law and Order, Local Government and Environment, Education and Science and Transport and Industrial Relations. Kelvin has also held the spokesperson roles in Corrections, Biosecurity, Education (including Special Education and Maori Education), Maori Affairs, Tourism, Regional Affairs and Justice (Sexual and Domestic Violence).

He is now the Minister for Mori Crown Relations: Te Arawhiti, Corrections, and Tourism.

Kelvin visited Australia, including Christmas Island in 2015 to advocate for the rights of New Zealanders living in Australia, particularly those in detention centres.

Born and bred in the Bay of Islands but now living in Kaitaia, Kelvin is a man of the North who brings skills in education and Mori issues to the Cabinet table to improve outcomes for all New Zealanders educationally, financially, culturally and socially.

His common sense and pragmatism allows him the ability to relate across all sectors of society, but he is most at home either fishing or up in the bush of his beloved Karetu Valley.
