A must do in Wellington. I have been here a number of times and never fail to find something new. I particularly enjoyed the Air New Zealand exhibition and liked going to the basement to find out more about the building itself and it's earthquake resistance (being from Christchurch). Always great to learn more about other cultures and a variety of traditional and more modern art exhibitions.
You can literally spend the whole day exploring the museum and all for free (1-2 exhibitions i think cost a small fee to enter i guess) We specially went for the Gallipoli The Scale Of Our War exhibition and was such a moving experience.
Awesome museum, easy to spend most of a day here exploring. The Current Gallipoli exhibition is amazing, so much time put into it. Well worth a visit. Nice cafe and few kids areas too. Easy to find on the water front.
A very cool museum overall. The Gallipoli Exhibit is by far the best part of it, and it was such a moving thing to experience. My partner and I spent hours in that exhibit just taking it all in. The huge, life-like figures were phenomenal!
