Taj Indian Tandoori Restaurant in Matamata
Not the best Indian I've had. Flavours are lacking but everyone has there own preference when it comes to Indian cuisine. Restaurant wasn't very appealing, quite out dated and didn't feel clean. This coupled with the higher prices mean I wont return.
Had a takeaway order from here, was OK without being great - not as authentic tasting as others. Good samosas however butter chicken was a bit watery and too mild.
Staff and service was good however. Restaurant appeared to be clean and tidy,
Definitely an enjoyable restaurant, great ambience and some very tasty tasty food. Kudos to the head chef and all involved. Some of the nicest staff ever and most definitely would go again!
Try the Mum's Goat Curry, the Lamb Shoulders and the Family Naan for sure!! Winner everytime!
Awful service. We ordered a tandoori chicken and a vege samosa (two separate dishes on the menu). The vege samosa was for a guy who only eats vegetarian. Surprisingly, these two were served on the same platter (saving dishes ?!?). When we told the owner about this, he refused to accept any fault and demanded that we should have let him know if anyone was vegetarian. The hostile attitude completely put us off. Add to this, shabby interiors and average food.
