Really nice location in the centre of town, a great atmosphere in the old Penroses building, with an open plan seating area with couches, armchairs and tables looking straight on to the main street. I find their coffees are only okay, and definitely on the more expensive side.
Coffee is OK but staff are generally friendly. It's always busy so grab a table when you can. With so many people coming in and out, the cafe and bathrooms seem to always be slightly untidy however staff do their best to keep on top of it.
Regardless of what you might think of big chains Starbucks make fantastic coffee. Usually they'll have a twist on classic, such as Dark Caramel Latte - which nothing short of divine. When it come to specialty coffees nobody comes even close. The décor is tired and very 90's but the building itself is quite cool. The seating area around the fire is very cosy. The café is usually quite busy but the staff are also quite speedy, it's worth the wait.
