I'm really happy with the service I received from Chris and Natalie. You know you have a good mechanic when not only is your car fixed but you also know you were not robbed.
I called because my car was misfiring. The diagnostic was inconclusive, Chris thought it was the fuel injection but suggested a second opinion from the dealer. I took it to the dealer and after a horrible customer experience there, finally received their diagnosis: fuel injection, just as Chris said. The dealer had the nerve to quote me an arm and leg to fix it. I called Natalie, and they saved my about $500 and had it completed in less than an hour!

GIVEN THAT I HAVE AN 1985 VEHICLE WHICH AS IT AGES NEEDS AT TIMES CONSTANT ATTENTION. THE LOVING CARE THROUGHT OUT. I HAVE THE MOST CONFIDANCE IN CHRIS SPARG AS A MECHANIC AND AS A PERSON AND HIS YOUNG TEAM.
CHRIS IS UTTERLY RELIABLE "NO SHORT CUTS" IN THAT THE JOB WILL BE COMPLETED TO A VERY EFFECTIVE/LASTING STANDARD
HOURLY RATE IS REASONABLE AND ONE IS ALWAYS KEPT INFORMED OF WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE.
CHRIS IS ALSO VERY PRO-ACTIVE AND IS PREPARED TO MACHINE PARTS ETC FOR MY 29 YEAR OLD VEHICLE!!

My family and I have been used Chris and Natalie for a couple of years now an wouldn't go anywhere else. chris always takes care to explain things to me, I'm at the point now where because I know nothing about cars anyway, I trust Chris just do what is required and when. I always feel safe knowing that if Chris says something need to be done, then it needs to be done. Lots of times it's gone the other way where something even though it's technically due, Chris looked at it and said no, that doesn't need to be done yet. Natalie in the office is great too. Always helpful and pleasant, and she even polished my tyres because Chris forgot !!!!. One time, they made a mistake by not rotating my tyres when I had asked, but if that is the worst thing that happens at Spargs, well that's pretty good.
We have been getting our car serviced and repaired at Sparg’s for years and generally been satisfied with their work. However on our most recent repair, Sparg’s installed an incorrect part and this became apparent later. Sparg’s rectified this problem but charged us a substantially higher amount for the re-do work and additional labour not taking into account that we had paid for the initial ‘incorrect’ work and that it was their mistake. When this was questioned, Chris was extremely rude and aggressive and even refused to discuss the matter or explain their charges to us. We made independent enquiries about the cost of the part and Sparg’s had marked up their price by over 50% from cost price! Additionally, when our car was on their premises for weeks awaiting repair, an external part of the car was broken. Sparg’s refused to accept responsibility of the broken part despite it being on their premises and under their care.
We have had very poor service from Sparg’s and of course will not be returning to them. If you choose to go to Sparg’s, we recommend that you question their prices as they clearly mark up their prices excessively which is a breach of the Consumers’ Guarantees Act. Additionally, the manner in which Sparg’s dealt with our complaint was appalling! Customers have a right to know what has been done to their car. Additionally we suggest that you check your invoices carefully. We have discovered several mistakes looking back and been overcharged, but Sparg’s has refused to refund our money.
A good mechanic is hard to find and Sparg’s is certainly not one of them. We strongly suggest that you look elsewhere to find a mechanic to carry out reliable and fair priced work with respectful customer service.
We originally came to Spargs as our local mechanic and they always gave us great service. When we moved away and tried other mechanics they just didn't give us that same quality of service theat Natalie and Chris gave. Now that we're back they're better than ever, this winning team are have competitive pricing, top class technical knowledge and customer service that's second to none. This is one mechanic that we would not hesitate driving the extra mile for! I'll be spreading the word, Chris and Natalie, you're amazing! Thank you and well done. Janene
