About Southern Regional Health School
New Zealand's Health Schools were established fourteen years ago, to help keep children learning when they are unwell for extended periods and missing school.
Health Schools today provide educational support to children whether they're in hospital or at home in the community.
Teachers spend approximately two-thirds of their time teaching children in a community setting and only one-third of their work occurs in hospitals.
Teachers at the Southern Regional Health School work with students, their families and their schools to keep up students learning during their illness and to help them return to full-time education at their usual school as quickly as possible.
Please get in touch if you have any questions, we would love to help however we can.
What makes us different
We are a state school for students from years 1 to 13 who are too ill to attend full-time education at their usual school.
We teach students anywhere in the South Island.
