Appalling service waited 25mins in reception for my prepaid room. No one came I however had the key. I took my luggage up to my room. The room that had been paid for me was their best, I would hate to see their worst. A young man at reception asked for $100 bond which was fine. He however wanted a credit card vs a debit card or cash. After calling the manager he was told I didn’t have to pay. Then 3 hours later the wife of the business said I had to pay the $100 then her husband said no! WTH? The rooms are dated. Rude and ignorant staff. Channels 1,2 and 3. No aircon, no explanation of how to get in and out when they close the front door. I wanted 4 nights accomodation. I went to the Angus Inn (5mins), seriously exceptional flawless service. Modern rooms, $10 difference in price. Free Wifi, pool, sauna and spa. Restaurant, room service. Local friendly bar! Just stunning.
Yum cha is the best we could find in Wellington region (trust me, we tried every single restaurants that serve yum cha in Wellington). However the service sometimes is Jon existence. The staff sometimes just ignored us and only serve their regular customers. We always remind ourselves we are there for the food, not the service. We stayed at their hotel long long time ago and it was quite run down, wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Staff are rude. The place is dirty. Rubbish at the bottom of the stair well. Food under the tables in the dinning room. The staff argue across the restaurant at each other in different languages. The yum cha is nice but not the best in town. As for the rooms imagine a grotty 90s motel.
