My favourite Indian place. They have an extensive menu that features dishes that are not often found elsewhere. They do good specials. Atmosphere is nice. Service is efficient. Plenty of parking nearby.
My favourite place for an Indian curry from a franchise. The portions are generous compared to the others and they have more appealing flavours like mango chicken. My favourite curries here are the ones with the thick sauce. They legitimately pack them full of real ingredients.
No fuss restaurant. Not at all expensive and the food is very authentic (according to my Indian friend). I like to take the kottu parotta, or flat parotta. My go to Indian place- just do not mind the service.
For the entrees, we chose Sarsao Machli & Nadir Palak for one, and Kashmiri Murgh & Ghosht Patiala for the other. They came with salad, tomato rice, and dalchini naan. Sarsao Machli is a salmon with coursed mastard, lemon juice, green chili, and coconut sauce. Nadir Palak is made with lotus root, spinach, garam masala, and chili. Kashmiri Murgh is Tandoori chicken cooked with yogurt, fenugreek leaves, red pepper, mint almond chutney. Ghosht Patiala is lamb cooked with tomato, onion, yogurt, cashew nut, saffron, and whole spices. They also brought one Naan per person. So all good
Rip-off Merchants. Very Dodgy
The worst delivery experience I have had in my life.
Waited 2 hours for delivery. Was massively over-charged on the repeatedly quoted price. Had to argue over the price for 15 minutes, watching the food going cold. Ended up going hungry..
At 8pm I phoned and was told that delivery was free on orders $35 or more.
I ordered 3 mains and 1 starter for a total price of $35 after giving my address again and confirming price.
At 9:30 the restaurant phoned me and asked if I was going to pick up the order. I corrected them and again verified the price.
At 9:40 the restaurant phoned again and asked for the address again.
At 10:00 the food arrived and I was told the price was $46. The delivery person would not believe me as to the quoted price, until I produced recordings of the phone conversations proving what I was saying. After he had 2 lengthy phone conversations with his manager, I was reluctantly told that the price would be discounted to $35.
I said no. That is no discount. That is the agreed upon price. A discount would be the $10 off that I then asked for. The manager refused this and took the the food back.
As the manager seemed so dollar conscious, I do wonder who eventually got to eat that lukewarm, probably re-heated food?
another one of the 6 places i go sometimes during my lunch break. it has to be an hour break to enjoy it as it takes time for food to arrive but worth the wait. you get your veg or non veg options and lunch deal helps out surely
My favourite Indian place in Auckland. They have a massive range on offer, and the quality of their curries is authentic. There is always plenty of meat in the curries. Their $10 lunches are a steal.
Very nice place, with beautiful Mirrors that hang across the wall. Just one side of the wall. Must be quite expensive but I do want one. Got take-away, as we wanted to watch a movie, 'Hard candy', very good. Opened up my mango curry very yum! My friend got the Shahi Paneer, which was delicious! but I reckon she is lactose intolerant so the cottage cheese was doing wonders for her stomach! (if you know what i mean). Very Nice staff would go again!
Very underwhelming and barely mediocre for Indian and only worth a single visit. Service was good and whilst prices were low, it's worth to pay more, elsewhere. Not a place I'd recommend but still popular.
I went there with a colleague today to try out them since I have eaten at other sister branches in Auckland and food has always been superb. I ordered the Googely Speciality (which is a lamb and chicken combined curry) expecting the same level of deliciousness when I tried it first in the Ponsonby branch. Greatest disappointment ever. Curry was just lamb, fatty and bland curry. My colleague who ordered the Vegetable Jalfrenzi was also disappointed since her dish tasted like they just tossed tomato sauce into it. The one and a half star rating is for the decor of the outdoor dining area, but without good food, not worth going there again.
Great place to have lunch with friends and just a few minutes walk from the office makes it a popular choice.
Service is good, food is excellent and the portions are really big!! Helps to order in advance by phone if going with a large group of people and then the food comes to the table quickly.
Great place for lunch or dinner. I've been for both a number of times with a group of friends and always had yummy food . Great selection of food and wine on the menu. Staff are always friendly and really helpful. Awesome place if you enjoy authentic Indian food
We often go to Raviz in Ellerslie for the $12 lunch special. The food is always excellent. You get naan, rice, and your curry (plenty of it) - outstanding value. The service is always fast and friendly. Best curry in the area by far! If you haven't tried it, you should!
