Rangi Ruru Girls' School has a long and distinguished history in the education of young women. Rangi Ruru Girls' School is one of New Zealand's top achieving schools academically and across a wide range of sports, cultural and creative pursuits.
The school offers an independent (private) Intermediate (Year 7 and 8) and Secondary (Years 9 to 13) education for Day and Boarding students. Boarding is available from Year 9 to 13.
At Rangi Ruru, we are committed to providing the very best education, equipping girls with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for the next step and beyond, the attitude and dispositions to make things happen for them and a strong set of values to help them make good decisions.
At the core of Rangi Ruru's philosophy is a commitment to the needs of the individual, close relationships with our student, parent and wider community and to our community values of Respect, Aroha, eNthusiasm and endeavour, Generosity of spirit and Integrity.
The school now offers independent intermediate and secondary education to approximately 700 girls including 120 boarders in Years 9 to 13, who live onsite in our boarding house.
Being an independent girls¿ school means we can offer a broad curriculum to suit the needs of our girls and we have the ability to offer students more flexibility around their subject choices, the number of staff we employ and our school resources. We attract high quality, committed teachers and our independence enables us to offer them more influence in the school¿s planning and decision-making.
