About Outback Helicopters Ltd
The team at Outback Helicopters are innovative and experienced at providing agricultural helicopter services throughout the North Island. Striving for continuous improvement, Outback have developed customised spray equipment and loading systems offering maximum efficiency and cost effective service. To achieve a zero drip policy, this customised equipment instantly turns the spray system off and on so that any waterways, races, houses or other void areas will be left untreated. Maintaining accuracy, Outbacks G.P.S application guidance systems ensure precise and traceable application maps.
One of the many services Outback Helicopters has to offer is the ability to apply urea in a sprayable fine particle form. Outback has engineered a purpose built, portable Hammer Mill which grinds urea into a powder. The ground up urea is then mixed with water to provide a suspension liquid fertiliser which is applied through the customised helicopter spray system. Because the urea is ground to a powder, less units of Nitrogen per ha can be applied for similar response rates compared with conventional urea granules. *As proven in a Massy University Study
Superior distribution can have an enhanced improvement on plant growth - there is supporting evidence to suggest that applying Nitrogen in fine particle form has the potential to improve its efficiency and uptake to the plant. By making the fertiliser more plant available in this fine particle form also means your Nitrogen goes further. Another benefit of applying lower rates of Nitrogen in fine particle form is the reduced environmental impact, with less Nitrogen leaching into waterways.
As well as fine particle Nitrogen, Outbacks portable mill is also excellent for mixing fine lime flour, allowing it to be sprayed on to your farm. Lime improves soil quality by lifting the soil pH level. This improves overall soil structure and root development which is important for healthy pasture. Good soil structure encourages grass and clover growth; and feed quality and pasture palatability is much better. Beginning from $40ha, Outback Helicopters can supply, deliver and apply this product, which is an economical way of improving the productivity of your hill country property.
To offer prompt service to remotely based farmers and take advantage of those opportune good weather windows, Outback Helicopters have based a pilot and helicopter in the Hawkes Bay region of Patoka. This compliments helicopters currently based in both Dannevirke and Pongaroa, supplying farmers with both competitive and professional agricultural services.
