Really worth the price as the place is beautiful nestled amongst the trees and along the rivers. At night, flightless birds will come and visit (albeit a bit shy) and you can see the stars. Downside is that for dorm rooms the bathing and laundry facilities are at the kitchen and lounge area in a separate lodge (I guess you get what you pay for). Free shuttle bus to the bus terminal (which is quite a walk itself).
First of all the setting is absolutely stunning. The facilities and services are excellent given the remoteness (they have an on-site café and meal options as well as a well stocked supply shop) and also a large kitchen if you're cooking for yourself. Tonnes of other facilities available. Accommodation ranges from very basic camping tent sites/cabins/chalets & deluxe chalets etc. We stayed in the standard cabins but it was very affordable and we had an honestly had an amazing time. Insect repellent is a must as the sandflies are vicious. Worth mentioning there is no cell phone network coverage here or anywhere in Milford Sound, but paid Wi-Fi and landline phone is available. The view is just out of this world amazing.
