Tried this place out once with my friend. I had the ramen and she had the tempura set. We were seated quickly but it was really crowded. The food was good however my friend didnt like her tempura. She said it was just full of tempura batter and I saw the disproportionate ratio of batter and shrimp. I will come back to try other stuff and hopefully it will be better.
This is owned and managed by the same people who own the City Wine Shop next door and Siglo roof bar upstairs. As such, the wine menu should not be a surprise, it is over a dozen pages, and contains pretty much something from every region and every variety in the world. Wine prices start from around $50 a bottle, and go all the way to... $5,000? I might have seen $10,000 bottles on their menu as well. For those who might be intimidated by such a wine list, there is also a simplified version which just lists the most popular wines, most of which are also served by the glass. You'll have a choice of over twenty wines being served by the glass, which is a rarity.
This is a hidden gem on Lorne street. Just happen to stumble across this place one night and it was busy as with a queue lined outside the door. If you like Japanese food then you will love this place. Hip niche environment with a touch of Japanese decor. Highly recommended.
