This is a reasonable pool. There are facilities that can be found nowhere else in Te Awamutu, but the charges for a swim are a bit much, especially when you have to pay to just SUPERVISE your kids!
Just a couple of weeks ago, a new (and first ever) cafe opened inside the foyer. It has had mixed reviews so far. I thought it was a great idea, as a coffee is always welcome when there's sat morning swim class for the kids or when they're playing at the park next door. Unfortunately last night I saw that the pool has entered into an agreement with the cafe, and from now on families cannot take food in to feed others (only packed lunches for themselves)... sounds ok, but the pools have long been a cheaper option for kids birthdays - large families, lots of kids, and having to pay for the entry price to the pools for starts, but now unable to cater their own birthdays? What's worse, they can purchase party food from the cafe.... when the point of having the bday there was that it was affordable and could be self-catered! Bad move in my opinion.
