About Kinderen Early Childhood Education
Kinderen where we truly are like an extension of your own home.
Kinderen is convenient.
Parents are busy and we understand that. That's why at Kinderen we make it easy by providing delicious and nutritious meals so when you are at home you can concentrate on spending that precious time with your child.
We make it easy
Our extended opening hours 7.30am-5.30pm
are designed to cater for busy professionals and we use on-line and secure learning portfolios so you can see your child's progress and photos and share it all with family anywhere in the world.
Highly trained and experienced teachers mean that your child gets the very best care and education with lots of added extras that we know are vital for these most important early years.
High teacher:child ratios.
Kinderen provides quality care in a small, group setting so you can be assured your child will receive the care and guidance they need to enjoy their preschool years and be ready to start primary school when they leave.
Kinderen Little Centre 0-3 years
Our little centre is licensed for 21 children, this means we have a small group and can implement primary care giving in a meaningful and sustainable way.
Having such a high teacher ratio enables us to spend quality time with your child, making opportunities for building relationships and learning together.
Our Kinderen little centre is different to other centres in so many ways¿we truly are like an extension of your home e.g. If your child is slow to move in the mornings and would really rather have a cuddle than get dressed, bring them in their PJ's and we will give them some breakfast and gently help them start their day, getting dressed, brushing hair and cleaning our teeth are all important parts of learning self-care skills that our teachers are ready and willing to help with.
This also allows you to have a stress-free start to your day, meeting your child's needs at home, then knowing they are so well cared for at Kinderen.
Kinderen Preschool 2-6 years
Kinderens Preschool is like going to your favourite Aunties for the day, there are lots of people to play with and learn from and lots of interesting, fun and exciting resources to use. The teachers are gentle and nurturing with a love of fun and learning; they enjoy stimulating children's curiosity and researching new ideas together. Teaching focuses very strongly on caring for ourselves, each other and our environment, creating happy, empathetic young people who are confident and competent socially, physically and cognitively.
Our Preschool is licensed for 28 children, a small group, more like a family and less like an institution! This means we can supply things that many other Early Childhood Services cannot, e.g. Specialist teaching, very small group teacher directed transition to school program, regular trips and outings into the community, baking, reading, gardening and many other REAL LIFE experiences.
Regular trips into the community:
Our Preschool children are taken on regular trips to local farms and natural forest reserves so they can explore freely in a safe and secure group while learning to follow instructions, assess risk and most of all have fun in nature.
Kinderen is New Plymouth's oldest family-run childcare centre. We believe our focus on creating a warm, family environment is the secret to on-going success. We know parents have lots of choices and we¿re thrilled that we have remained first choice for so long.
