Great place to go if you know what you are looking to buy. The staff are pretty helpful but also really pushy, if I ask for a staff memebrs advice I am then made to feel obligated to purchase the item and I dont like being asked all the time if I need assistance.
Shopping at Harvey Norman is a hit and miss affair for me and my wife. Sometimes you get a sales person who you can tell in genuine in his/her concern for your purchase and in you as a customer. Over all I am happy enough with my experiences to keep going back. Not to mention the deal bins that they have. Half of the time I go in, its just to look through the bins or look at the sales. Other thing I like about it is, the last time I was in shopping for a BBQ, I asked the sales man if the prices were up for negotiation, and he looked at me and said...Of Course they are...so I really appreciate that I can haggle over price there.!
We recently purchased an expensive bed from Harvey Norman. As they delivered the wrong bed, we went to the store early next morning and notify the problem. We told them that we have tried both the beds(soft & firm on the same brand) before we ordered them and particularly asked for the soft one.
The customer service person who we were complaining said that only the firm one was on the floor the time we ordered the bed !!! Me and my husband both tried the beds and clearly mention for the soft one( two person can't be wrong at the same time). Harvey norman tried to prove we were lying, to cover their own mistake. We told them if we don't try both how would we recognize the wrong bed was delivered. We had to pay $158 (Redelivery cost+ cleaning cost) to get the floor model.
We felt deceived, ripped off and helpless. We didn't find any recognition of customer concern. Harvey Norman Bedding can do anything and everything to cover their mistake.Once they get you they will give you a good lesson.
I hope no one in the future be in the same situation like us. And do not recommend Harvey Norman Bedding to any one when you have other option.
