This place has best curries in porrirua , love the chicken tikka masala and the kebabs over here amazing grilled chiken wich comes out of the naan oven and with mint sauce , lve the cheese naan over here too . very friendly staff as well very good service .
Went for mid week lunch with a group of 6. We had preordered to save time. Food when it arrived was very nice. Garlic naan was beautiful. The staff were a bit rude which let our experience down. We were seated at a table we couldn't fit on. We requested we move to the table next to us, we were denied as a table of 8 'might' walk in. There were other tables they could have pulled together should that happen (I have extensive hopso background managing restaurants). We couldn't fit the dishes on the table along with out drinks, very tight fit. No table of more than 3 walked in during our 1.5 hours there. There was a mix up with one of the breads we ordered and the staff were reluctant to fix the issue, opting to rather argue we were wrong. Then at the till we were charged for the additional bread despite it being their error and they had removed the bread they had originally sent out. Shame the floor staff let the foo down.
This used to be my favourite curry place to frequent and although I haven't been here for some time I thought on a chilly night I would go get some comfort food.
Curry Village must have changed owners in the past year. I went to pick up my takeaway order and was met with a very cold reception from the lady on the counter. There was no smile or hello, just a what you want. There was no thank you or any other words spoken when I paid.
I had ordered a chicken madras and lamb biryani. The chicken madras had 6 little cubes of chicken just plonked in (not even cooked in the tandoor) the gravey was tasty though. The rice in the biryani was soggy and the yogurt sauce that they gave us to add to the biryani was sickeningly sweet.
It was quite a disappointing meal and we definitely will not be going back again as there are other Indian places in Porirua that would surely serve better quality meals with better service for the same price if not cheaper.
Sorry Curry Village but you need to up your game.
Curry Village does not honour the serice they are offeing fo Bartercard Trade customer finding an excuse, than they ofer you to pay 50/50 on Barter and cash than suddenly it is all 100% on Cash, not good for the business this is a Fair and Trade Issue.... It was a late time for Lunch and just few people having Lunch in There... I will say they are money greedy....So be careful when you are going there on Barter....
On the top of this it was a Bunch of few people harassing, bullying and Calumnying other one without to know them, which t is not a nice environment to be...
