I always go here - if you like a quick in and out no question no small talk stop at the supermarket haha. Now that they have self serve even better. The lady on tonight was helpful and friendly, kept her distance but there straight away to help when machine was throwing a tantrum.
This is my local supermarket when I just need to pop in to get something. The staff are mostly great and friendly. They always have good specials and a good selection of fresh produce, everything is easy to find. The new self serve check outs are very handy
Good clean supermarket. Great selection of everyday items, and also carries items like jugs, toasters and cookware. Everything is well labeled, and easy to find. I do find some of the items on the higher shelves difficult to reach if they aren't right at the front, and don't often find staff on the floor to assist.
The new self service is a well needed addition to the store, as the long lines no longer are an issue.
We alternate between Countdown and New World, as they are opposite each other in Stoke.
The prices at Countdown are similar to New World, and the checkout operators do not pester us with silly questions as they do at New World eg are you having a busy day, plans for the weekend, blah, blah blah!! Such a nice change.
Nice wide aisles, excellent range of goods and always nice and clean. Often hard to find a staff member out in the aisles to ask where an item is, otherwise very good. Meat prices seem to be higher than elsewhere, and the car park is a bit of a challenge with it's ups and downs.
