The Auckland Fair is a bi-annual market, showcasing a selection of the best Designers, Artisans and Crafters coming together under one roof, selling direct to the public, for one day only. Each of the 140+ independent Makers has been hand selected by the organiser, Jessica Whiting, for the quality, ingenuity and creativity of their products, with many Makers travelling from around New Zealand to participate on the day.
Hosted within the restored heritage building, Shed 10 on Queens Wharf, the space is transformed from the moment you walk in. As well as being able to meander through all the stalls on offer, there is an indoor garden café serving delicious food and coffee, spaces to sit under leafy palms to take in the atmosphere, a kids crafting area, competitions to be won, a complimentary photo-booth within a restored Combi-Van plus much, much more!
To meet our Makers and see what else is available on the day, check out our website for up to date information.
OUR NEXT FAIR: Sunday 14th June, 11am to 4pm, $5 entry (kids under 12 free)
Amazing, amazing amazing!!! Been going to the Auckland Fair since it began and just keeps getting bigger and better!
A great opportunity to purchase gifts for all ages/genders or treats for yourself. Beautiful handcrafted items, all made here in NZ - a great alternative to mass produced stuff.
Not to be missed...... Come away with loads of beautiful things, and if you are a maker, loads of creative inspiration. Love it!
A place to go if you like checking out markets. Lots of variety, small but quality items. The stallholders are nice people who are proud of their products.
Love the Auckland Fair. Great makers with amazing crafts to purchase. The event is always so well organised and fun to attend. Looking forward to the July event!
Had a blast at this on the weekend - Picked up loads of craft goodies! Shed 10 was a great venue and a marked improvement on previous events held at Aotea Centre. Tonnes of people were there... almost too many if I'm honest - it was a v long line to get inside but the line moved fast enough. At times once inside it was slow going navigating all the stalls with so many people. Plus few too many baby strollers parked up in the middle of the aisles making things difficult. Will definitely be back next year though :)
I have never been to the Auckland Fair markets before however I live in the city and love to go to markets so I am looking forward to this one. Had a look on the website and looking forward to seeing everything, particularly the big woolen blankets , silver jewelry and flowers of course.
That's so wonderful to hear! Can't wait for you to have your first Fair experience, sounds like quite the shopping list! Best tip: allow a bit of extra time to get around everyone, it's a busy event but moves along quickly. See you there!

I simply adore Auckland Fair! As a university student my schedule gets filled up with tests and assignments, but the Fair is something that cannot be missed! The showcase of talent and creativity is spectacular, and it's hard to walk away without buying something. More than the stalls and pieces on sale, the vibe is always so positive and full of energy, and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a fun day out and perhaps also some shopping to go :)
This is a great fair as it brings in such an eclectic mix of crafts that there is always something new to wow you. It has been great for buying presents for babies, kids, friends and family of all ages. I even got a new book signed by the author one year! I do have to give myself a cash budget though as otherwise I would go home with everything I want but can't really afford to have it all......
I literally look forward to and save for this all year round. In december i managed to not only get amazing christmas presents for every single one of my friends and family (including a newborn) but also got to feel good about supporting local artists, and not sweatshops overseas.
Can not praise highly enough, no matter who you are, everyone is so talented and you will definitely find treasure.
I found out about the Auckland Fair in 2013, and have not missed one since that day! It is the one Auckland event that I constantly participate in, and have loved every visit that I've been to. It is definitely a MUST GO event with the numerous amount of beautiful crafts that are on display at affordable prices. A day filled with great atmosphere, and you leave feeling INSPIRED. Worth every minute!!
I am looking forward to this amazing annual event!! It is such a unique chance to see so many works of arts and crafts. It is not only a place of "exhibition" of artworks, but also a market where we could all spend a sum of money on something we like - so fair! Can't wait to go to this year's one!!
The Auckland Fair Dec 2014 was the very first time I got to showcase my prints to the public and it was such a great experience. It was so encouraging seeing so many people flood the building and their desire to see and experience the NZ design scene. The variety of makers is enourmous and you'll find something to suit everyones tastes. Not to mention, the rustic charm of Shed10 provides the perfect atmosphere. This fair is a MUST for any keen craft lover!
Love the Auckland Fair, it's the perfect time to stock up on all the jewellery and crafts I need for a year! All the pieces are unique which makes it mega worthwhile. Should happen more often.
Love this fair! Been looking forward to it this year after visiting last year! Amazing talented crafters mixed with a perfectly organised market makes for an event you don't want to miss! Definitely a must do if you are in the auckland area!
Loved the fair last year. Look forward to this year's editoon. Well organised and run on the day. Left with crafts, toys and a beautiful flower arrangement last time..what would it be this time?
The only worthwhile gathering of creative folk and products. Worth saving for and travelling too. Auckland Fair is New Zealand's fare
Not only this is the best place to get all those beautiful hand-made goodies and craft; it is a place full of ideas and inspiration! I love making stuff for my own kids and all the different stores get my creative juice flowing! It is a place to support small home businesses and home-made goods!
The best (and only one of its kind!) design market in NZ showcasing an array of Kiwi design talent and their fresh creations! Held twice a year in Auckland, this is an absolute must see/do if you are in the area at this time (or make a plan to be in the area!) From unique jewellery designs, graphic prints, cushions, ceramics, cards, origami flowers, pinatas, candles, homewares, babies clothing and so much more, I can guarantee there is something that you will fall in love with at these eclectically rad markets!
Can't speak highly enough of The Auckland Fair.
The best crafters all under one roof. Love love love Hunting Letter Flags!
Make sure you head to the one just before Christmas to get your shopping sorted, i do that every year.
Thanks Auckland Fair for making craft cool again
This is a not-to-be missed event and it improves every time! There is always a wonderfully curated selection of goodies from a variety of makers. A great way to support local artists, crafters and businesses. It helps to bring cash for the door and the vendors. Some makers have eftpos but not all.
For future events I'd love to see more "hands on" crafty workshops on the day.
Fabulous Nicky! Thanks so much, definitely a good tip on the cash. We've upped the cash out facility for this June so it will be much easier to get cash out. You must have been reading my mind, keep an eye out for an exciting announcement this coming July, I think you'll quite like it :)

I have been to the Auckland Fair many times and always end up buying something. There is a huge range of well curated stall holders, selling contemporary and creative products. The market is widely promoted, and a great opportunity to put money into New Zealand small businesses!
It's a great place to stock up on gifts for friends and family members.
