Asset Addiction Counselling is for individuals, couples, employees, and family members who may have any concerns related to; their own or another's drinking and usage of methamphetamines, cannabis, gambling concerns, or other serious addiction issues impacting an individual's life.
This service is able to provide Relapse Prevention strategies, especially following a drinking episode or lapse, and psycho-education counselling for stopping or reducing harm from the substance use or drinking.
Asset Addiction Counselling offers counselling support for those with legal issues related to alcohol or drug use; Legal charges such as alcohol-related driving charges, excess breath alcohol charges, issues with parenting and custody conflicts, which may be related to alcohol or drug use. Including documentation for those requiring recommendations, motivational summaries or letters, to courts, or other relevant government agencies. Asset Addiction Counselling can provide knowledge and guidance to other alcohol and drug service options within Canterbury and New Zealand.
Service options such as referrals for screenings, knowledge of Canterbury or other New Zealand alcohol or drug interventions. Options for residential treatments, and detoxification services such as social and medical for individuals, who are seeking to stop drinking or drug use. Counselling for those family members concerned about their partners', spouse, or young persons' drinking or drug use. Counselling assistance to family members seeking to help support the family member to receive treatment.
Assessment reports for employer's requiring to assist their employees with failed drug screens and requiring ongoing interventions to assist the employee to return to work-place and meet assessment criteria safety and drug screen requirements. A Registered Dapaanz Supervisor, for clinical supervision for alcohol and drug workers, students, or those in other allied health fields needing clinical supervision. Approaches used include; Client Centred Counselling, Motivational Interviewing, Strength Based Approaches, Small figure work, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. A registered member of the MINT (Motivational Interviewing Network or Trainers, 2016)
