About Accelerate Physiotherapists Ltd
Pilates in Invercargill
For more than a decade, Accelerate Physiotherapy has paved the way in bringing Pilates to Invercargill with a well equipped Pilates Studio. We also do programmes, utilising the Pilates equipment, and run 2 equipment class downstairs in our gym.
All our therapists have undergone extensive training and often use Pilates for physiotherapy rehabilitation, whether it is after injury or for maintenance of well-being. We have the skills to adapt and provide exercises to help with a safe return to activity and function.
The PINC and STEEL Cancer Rehabilitation Programs offer personalised, prescribed rehabilitation to women(PINC) and men(STEEL) diagnosed with cancer; helping them heal as well as possible, and function at optimal levels through every stage of their treatment and recovery.
At Accelerate Physio we promote well-being, a healthy lifestyle & an early return to normal function. Through a greater understanding of how your joints & muscles work, we believe you will be able to improve your performance & minimise the risk of injury.
We have special interests in:
- Back & neck pain / spinal rehabilitation
- Manipulative therapy
- Sports / exercise injuries & training
- Muscle balance assessment & movement re-training
- Workplace injuries
- Ergonomic on-site work evaluations, advice & education
- Occupational gradual process injuries
- Pilates (Reformer & matwork programmes)
Talk to Accelerate Physio and you will receive accurate assessment, treatment & rehabilitation of muscle, joint & soft tissue trauma & pain, with particular focus on what your present and future needs are.
What makes us different
Our Pilates classes are small allowing for constant observation and analysis as well as feedback to improve your technique. Exercises are progressed according to individual ability with an emphasis on control of pelvic and spinal stability with good alignment before end range flexibility.
