Welcome to Smart Start Care and Education Centre, a fully licensed childcare centre for children aged 0-6 years.  We take pride in providing your child with a supportive and caring environment, including superior facilities, quality educational equipment and programmes, and well qualified teaching staff. 

We provide quality care and education based on Te Whaariki, the early childhood curriculum of the Ministry of Education.   We include both indoor and outdoor play, with a focus on children learning at their own pace through play and interaction with others. 

Each child receives a personal journal which is kept updated with their achievements, artwork and photos.  This is a wonderful way to keep a record of your childs progress, and is given as a gift to the child when they leave Smart Start. 

All meals are provided, with the exception being baby formula.  We encourage children to be involved with the food preparation - including growing fruit, vegetables and herbs.  A weekly menu is available for parents to review.

Our centre offers the 20 hours ECE subsidy for all 3-4 year old children.

Rising Stars Preschool offers sports and early childhood education for 2-5 year old children across Waiwhakaiho!

We provide a secure, fun environment to get your child's mind and body active. With experienced preschool teachers and sports educators, the children will be exposed to a range of sporting skills that gives your child a head start in sport as well as helping them develop into positive individuals with strong foundations for future learning.

Our centres in both Levin & Raumati are open 52 weeks a year, only closing on public holidays.  

We cater for children aged 6 weeks through to 5 years of age, and provide a wide range of play and educational activities designed to engage, stimulate and develop your child.

Teacher/Child ratios exceed the current Ministry of Education regulations, and we have our own chef who prepares nutritious cooked meals for the children throughout the week.  

WINZ subsidies are available, as well as the ECE 20 hours free education for 3 and 4 year olds.
