Metlink

Great service, use everyday to get to work. the drivers are usually very friendly. its great to be able to just sit back relax and listen to music on the way to work.

This outfit runs the bus services in Wellington. Not sure if they are council owned or private. Either way, every bus that I caught on my stay in Wellington was on time, clean, tidy, modern and the drivers were friendly. Fares were entirely reasonable and the frequency of the service was great too.

The trains are nearly always on time and i have never had a bad experience on one. It is a really cheap way to get around Wellington when you are visiting.

Great train system on the Kapiti line - very comfortable, modern, clean and air conditioned trains with better sound proof, than former trains. Really makes for an enjoyable commute to CBD from home. Run's mostly on time - really appreciate the helpful digital schedule/timetable screen on the station platforms along the route now. The bus system in Wellington CBD is ok - can run really slow, and get chaotic, and makes for a rough trip. Overall good systems in places - safe, comfortable, reliable, and with the extra train's during the day, even better. Metlink are really good with updates, SMS messages, and keeping passengers updated via website.

Metlink was very helpful last week when i needed to get somewhere and it rained unexpectedly. I managed to arrive at my destination in time, for a very small cost and best of all i was dry!!
