Best blue cod burgers in town. Great outside area and it’s in the shade in The afternoon in summer (too hot elsewhere)

Lovely staff and amazing food . Good atmosphere too . We were felt welcomed from the start and the staff were so nice . Couldn't have asked for a better night.

We went here for a family dinner and left feeling full but a little under whelmed.
Was around $100 for 2 adult mains, 2 kids meals and a couple of juices.
The meals were okay, but very generic and pre-made. They advised they had run out of kids fish and chips, and somehow the “chefs” couldn’t do a small portion of a main course.

Speights Ale House is a great place to visit if you are looking for a place to dine that serves great tasty food, reasonably priced, if you are going on an evening then it is best to book a table as it does get very busy - they staff are very friendly and welcoming - the decor is warm, inviting, tastefully and interestingly quaint. The menu is varied, would recommend the steak, Blue Cod but really all is very good - there is plenty of seating outside, on Thursdays there is a really cute locals market which just adds ambience to the outside area - this place is situated on a min street in Wanaka - next time you are in Wanaka then visit Speights Ale House...

Went here with mu mum when she visited. My food was tasty, but the portion was not that big. My mum had to get her streak re-done, as it was over cooked, and her mash was instant. They claimed it was not instant, but you can never mask that instant mash taste, she was not impressed. I liked my food, but was left hungry.
