View glacial lakes, mighty alpine glaciers and lush coastal rain forests.
Flying from Lake Tekapo & Glentanner Park as well as from Franz Josef on the West Coast. The Grand Traverse is approximately 50 minutes flying time.  Allow one hour total duration.

Trans-Divide Flights:
With Lake Tekapo a short flight away Air Safaris offers you the opportunity to fly over the main divide of the Southern Alps for a 12 day excursion. This scenic flight gives you the opportunity to see what is on the other side without the necessity to complete the 6+ hour drive between Franz Josef and Lake Tekapo. On the Eastern side at Lake Tekapo you can enjoy the hot pools, go ski-ing, ice skating, curling ( winter only), there are also great walking and mountain biking activities available.
During the summer season the Trans-Divide operates two daily flights leaving at 9 am and 1 pm. Trans-divide trips are operated as an on demand basis during the winter season. Minimum 4 passengers required.
