Honey Centre & Cafe

We stopped here on our way south from Whangarei recently with our three kids. We used the toilets, which were clean and tidy, and then browsed through the gift shop. The kids were very interested in the wall of bees.
The cafe looked pretty good, it was about half full, but we didn't purcahse anything from it. There was an area for kids to do colouring in, which I thought was a nice idea.
They also have an information wall with brochures about attractions in the area and further south/north which I grabbed a few things from.
Overall I think its worth a stop here.

always a great place to stop when heading up north, I have always had a great coffee and lots of things for the kids to play with and look at. Finding the Queen Bee in the hive out the back is a favourite.

The Honey Centre, in Warkworth, is a must-see. Besides a lovely cafe, you can see a live hive (through a glass panel). It's fun to try and find the queen bee and see the other bees busying themselves. There are tons of lovely things to buy as well - mostly all relating to honey, bees, beeswax etc. Highly recommended.
