Honey Centre & Cafe

always a great place to stop when heading up north, I have always had a great coffee and lots of things for the kids to play with and look at. Finding the Queen Bee in the hive out the back is a favourite.

Great gift shop attached where you can sample the different honeys and learn a bit more about them. Friendly staff. We also enjoyed a nice drink and hot chips in the cafe. Thanks :)

Great place to stop when heading north. Very child friendly and relaxed. Great coffee too.

We stopped here on our way south from Whangarei recently with our three kids. We used the toilets, which were clean and tidy, and then browsed through the gift shop. The kids were very interested in the wall of bees.
The cafe looked pretty good, it was about half full, but we didn't purcahse anything from it. There was an area for kids to do colouring in, which I thought was a nice idea.
They also have an information wall with brochures about attractions in the area and further south/north which I grabbed a few things from.
Overall I think its worth a stop here.

My 4 year old loves the Queen Bee:)
