Our mission is to teach people of all ages and abilities how to use their own power to stay safe, seek support for themselves and others, and believe in themselves.

Our approach is unique, evidence based, and can support the Family Violence and Sexual Violence Prevention Strategy and work programme on the individual and community level of the social-ecological primary prevention model. 

Our sessions are safe, fun, positive, proven, professionally coached and internationally accredited (over two million adults and children have been trained worldwide under Kidpower Internationals umbrella). Feedback from professionals, parents and children confirm that the courses increase their own confidence and abilities to keep safe and encourage children to be respectful yet assertive. It helps both the more aggressive children as well as the overly shy children.  

Ten core programmes cater for different ages, cultures, and abilities. All programmes use
a)	carefully formatted and coached role-plays,
b)	visuals,
c)	group activities, discussion and practices,

The practices build skills and confidence to
	be a pro-active up-stander (including safeguard children and vulnerable people)
	negotiate consent (i.e. set and respect boundaries for better relationships)
	solve conflict without violence or aggression
	question and change social norms that support violence

In every-day terms, adults and young people practise how to  
	take charge for their own and others safety
	keep safe when on their own,
	get help safely from trusted people and also strangers,
	stop bullies and inappropriate touch or behaviour,
	cope with peer group pressure,
	turn fear into positive practical action,
	recognise an emergency situation, and take quick, effective action, and
	as a last resort, use effective physical defence skills only to stop violence and get help

PROGRAMMES for People with DISABILITIES
We have successfully taught self-protection skills to thousands of people with such difficult life challenges as developmental delays, loss of vision, hearing or mobility, prejudice based on race, religion, economic status, sexual orientation, or other factors. 

Two Healthy Relationship Resources, developed with and for children, teens, and adults with intellectual disabilities provide practical tools to build resiliency and to prevent bullying, violence and abuse. 

MATES & DATES PROGRAMME
We are contracted by ACC to deliver the Mates & Dates programme in colleges in Auckland, Tasman, and Christchurch.

<h2>What Little Ninja offers ?</h2>Little Ninija offers a karate programme for&nbsp;children aged 5 and over.&nbsp;It is the ideal environment for your child to learn martial arts its&nbsp;welcoming, encouraging and fun.&nbsp;All classes are designed specifically for children, and several are run by a black belt who is also a trained fitness expert.All childrens&nbsp;classes are grouped by karate level so&nbsp;your child learns alongside a similar level of ability. We welcome and encourage parents to be present at all childrens classes.There is an emphasis on physical fitness and this&nbsp;helps your childs stamina, coordination, endurance, balance, muscle control and flexibility.&nbsp;The Karate Kids principles of love, respect and obedience will also help your child &nbsp;self-respect, self-discipline, awareness, politeness, tolerance are all enhanced.Our childrens programme will gradually&nbsp;take your child through the karate grades, every few months&nbsp;or so if your child is ready to progress to the next level. The teacher will invite your child to class when he or she considers your child is prepared.

Lion Budokan Karate International, NZ has been training Karate and Self Defense to kids over 6-year old, youth and adults since 2013.

The initiative of launching Kids Karate has been long awaited. We have seen a great demand and a need for quality training for younger kids in the community.

Our pathway connects students completing their kids training at Budokan Academy into a smooth transition of LBKIs regular courses and belt system.
