- Karin has an active interest in language and culture and studied Te Reo Māori to full immersion/fluency with Te Wānanga o Aotearoa. Karin's counselling approach is best described as eclectic or diverse and draws on person-centred, strengths-based, cognitive-behavioral, trauma-informed and narrative approaches. Karin approaches therapy as teamwork/mahi tahi and believes the key to positive outcomes is active collaboration and she strives to provide a safe, non-judgmental, mana-enhancing, inclusive and culturally sensitive space in which people can feel heard and validated, grow in self-awareness, and test out new ways of being, doing and thinking. From pain to purpose: Karin has first-hand experience of many of the struggles she supports people through in her mahi and her life experiences has compelled her to help others through theirs.

Karin holds a Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis and has been practicing since 2010. Realising the benefits of "talk therapy", she commenced a counselling degree in 2021 and was awarded a Bachelor of Counselling in 2024 and now holds Provisional Membership with NZCCA.
