A place for all the family that is well worth a visit. There is so much to see once you enter the new meets old art deco designed building. The sounds and ambiance at the beginning are magical and you learn so much about early NZ as you walk on and on and on. The cafe serves great hot chocolate and there is free WiFi. All sorts of lovely gift ideas in the shop too. Well worth a visit.

This is a great museum that hides it's opulence with a small-looking outside structure, but don't let this fool you. The museum starts off with a showcase of the history and establishment of Dunedin, and some models of the tools used by the Maori settlers. You then come through a remake of a ship used by the English settlers and lastly brings you through a showcase of old electronics and automobiles, with a remake as well of the tram installed in Dunedin in the past. Definitely worth going to for anyone of any age.
