Countdown Supermarkets

The checkout staff , especially the older ones, seem to be struggling to get on board with reducing plastic waste initiative. We've had several negative comments from checkout staff about the hassle of bags.
Their bakery has a good selection of treats.

Right in the city centre with lots of car park. Friendly and helpful staffs. Keep an eye on the every special or the $5 week! They do online shopping: free pick up if you spend $50 or more; or $12 delivery for under $200 or $8 for over $200 spent.

The parking here was a bonus as everywhere else costs for parking. It's a very handy area in Dunedin. Seems a bit pricey to new world but worth it for a one stop shop.

Excellent parking, convenient location. Service can be a bit slow. The new in-store pharmacy is a bonus. Day-to-day prices on basics like pet food are a bit higher than some other supermarkets. But otherwise their prices (particularly on store brand goods) are good.

Countdown supermarkets offers handy one stop shop in the centre of town. There is no supermarket more convenient in Dunedin than Countdown. As such, their prices are often more expensive than the customer-focused New World nearby. Caveat emptor!
