Marlborough Civic Theatre Trust owns and operates the ASB Theatre Marlborough and Marlborough Light & Sound.  

ASB Theatre Marlborough opened in March 2016 and comprises of three unique venues - the McLauchlan Family Auditorium, a 700 seat lyric theatre. The Anderson Theatre is our newest addition.  This is a Black Box Studio Theatre.  Our function room, the Whitehaven Wine Room is a fantastic space for meetings and functions and overlooks the Taylor River. 

We are the Marlborough agent for Ticketek.  The Box Office is open M-F 9am -5pm and Sat 10am-1pm.  We are also open 1 hour before any show start time out of these hours.

The Opera House is an 100-year-old venue with an auditorium that boasts spectacular original features including a proscenium arch, domed ceiling and raked stage. 

The Opera House has a beautiful marble staircase descending to the stunning first floor space, with its hand-painted La Scala inspired ceilings opening to an intimate balcony overlooking Te Aro Park.

The Michael Fowler Centre is the home to the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and Wellington's main stage for leading performing artists, this much-loved part of the Wellington skyline sits right at the heart of the capital city's civic and cultural precinct.

The spacious auditorium with stunning acoustics is complemented by the Renouf Foyer and Lion Harbourview Lounge. A striking three-level glass facade fronts a magnificent interior space, finished with Italian marble and native timbers. The architecture has seen the venue win numerous architecture awards.

The Royal Wanganui Opera House (which has historical status, being built in 1900) seats 830. It is located in St Hill Street. The Opera House is available for stage presentations as well as conferences, weddings etc. The theatre can be booked through the booking office. User fees are charged for the venue. Ticketing is provided for many Whanganui venues, in partnership with Friends of the Royal Wanganui Opera House, from the Opera House booking office. Bookings can also be made online. Ticketing links are currently in place with Arena Manawatu and The Regent on Broadway in Palmerston North.

The booking service at the Royal Wanganui Opera House is open 9.30am to 5.30pm weekdays and 10am to 12 noon on Saturdays.
