The Auckland War Memorial Museum

This place is definitively worth it. Amazing objects related with war and also with Maori culture in general, plus some objects typical of the English in the invasion time. Beatufil and impresive weapons made of wood and stone, boats, clothes, masks and statues. It's great. It closes at 5 pm, and from 4 to 5 pm the entrance is free (at least by the time I went in 06/2017).

This museum has something for everyone, I have taken friends from the island and they have been able to see their own countries history, there is weird and wacky for the kids (and the kids at heart) then there is all our war history where we can remember those who have gone before us.

We can easily spend a whole day visiting all the exhibitions. One of my favourite places to go in Auckland.

It's good to go somewhere and the staff actually know what they are talking about. you could spend hours and hours here. would be a great palace t take the kids over the holidays

Very nice building with so many different exhibits and displays. Coming from Wellington I found it more spacious than Te Papa and had some excellent information from the wars.
