Love visiting the museum, the exhibits are amazing. The volcano/ earthquake experience is very cool and the kids loved it. The Maori display is amazing and very interesting to see the items, including the waka. Well worth visiting and the staff are welcoming and friendly.

Great museum and location free for Aucklanders. I love the changing exhibitions. Currently the Wildlife photography exhibition is on (until 3rd Dec) and amazing photos are displayed. Went there on a sunny day - the ability to combine indoor museum and outside active us always great.

Aside from Te Papa, this is NZ's most significant museum. It has so much knowledge and history within its walls it must be viewed by all Kiwis

A place to relax, learn and be impressed.
If you need somewhere to sit down and just take a walk, this is the best place to take refuge from the busy city. It’s free and the location is perfect. This was our second visit to the museum and we are always very impressed with the quality of information, presentation and interactives. Our daughter (age 2years old) enjoyed all the film snippets and getting hands-on with all the different activities provided at the kids section. Beautiful museum.

it is a great place to learn about war history, as well as Maori history. It has lots of information about everything, with most of the objects been donated from somebody. If you are a resident, the entry fee is free, but otherwise, you have a pay a small fee. Overall, this is a great place to spend a day with the family.
