The Auckland War Memorial Museum

I really enjoyed the guided tour I had around the museum, the guide was very informative and friendly.

While in Auckland on holiday with the kids we visited the lego exhibit as they are crazy about Lego. It was amazing to see just what they could create with the lego. The kids had a blast and i had to drag them away as they were so transfixed.

such a great asset to Auckland - the museum is not only for tourist but something locals should visit once in a while as well - great way to brush up on NZ history.

A great day out, informative displays detailing our countries history, and much much more! All contained in a beautiful building aswell! It was a bonus that being an Aucklander gained me free entry too.

This museum really needs to be renamed-I avoided it for a long time thinking it was only about war, but I was pleasantly surprised to see a rich variety of natural and New Zealand History as well as the War Memorial. There's also a really nice section about New Zealand's volcanic history. Located within the beautiful Auckland Domain. You could spend a whole day here easily and it's free for Auckland residents!
