Tandoori Indian Restaurant

Me and my dad have had on our list of places to eat at for years, and the other weekend we finally ate here for his birthday. The experience was incredibly enjoyable; service was impeccable, the atmosphere was lively, and food was, overall, excellent. Although some of the dishes we ordered could have been more flavorful, Tamarind does a good job in pleasing the type of clientele that would eat at such a restaurant. I would come back here more for the atmosphere and service than the food, as I could probably find cheaper, more authentic food somewhere else. However, that is to be expected at such a restaurant.

Dal makhani, junoon spiced Naan and Nadru Matar makhana are a must try when you are dining at this place. We were served with a super cute little cake at the end of our meal to celebrate my birthday!

Some of the best Naans in Auckland are to be found here and at a decent price too. Delicious curries available to accompany them but my personal favourite is the lamb Rogan Josh in which the lamb is simply falling off the bone.
