Pets in the City Mt Wellington

Previously was happy with Pets in the City, but owners changed. This time left our Labrador for 2 weeks in Pets in the City Mt Wellington, came back to a very depressed dog, with skin infections (boldness and staph infection under his chin), hot spot on his tail, worn off elbows from tension or not enough mobility. Pets in the City did not advise he needs vets attention was not advised of anything when I picked him up! He just finished 3 weeks of antibiotics and he took 2 weeks for his normal happy mood to return. He would cower away from any affection after picking him up. So appalling! Will never go back!

Hi NatalieW, had the same experience with Debbie Evans at Pets in the City, Mt. Wellington. Very rude and disrespectful. We never came back after that. Our dog was with Pets in the City for a year and we pulled out. We now book with City Pets:)

I brought my cat in to Pets in the City in Mt Wellington. Thinking that would be the best place to take my loved pet while being away. I had asked Melissa Newell who works in the cattery to contact me via email or call my family if Meiko hadn't settled within a day or two as my family would pick her up. I provided her with both cell, home and email address of my mum/dad and sister. I had also provided my vets details where my sister is situated as she could also pick her up.

On picking Meiko up I have found out she was incredibly stressed throughout her stay (14 days), she had contracted cat flu and was taken to the vets after only a few days of being at Pets in the City. I was absolutely disgusted that this has happened and that no one had contacted my family, the details I had provided them with.

I spoke with the manager Debbie Evans who was both incredibly rude and disrespectful.

I refused to pay for the costs of her stay, and these were refunded, but did have to pay the vet costs.

Even after all of the above there was no apologies. Peoples pets mean a lot to them and I believe that the above is disrespectful to both the pets and their owners.

I highly suggest people don't take their pets there, we won't be taking any of our pets back there again.

We have taken our Golden Retriever here several times and we always pick up a happy dog when we return. Its lovely and clean and the services are there like a groom if you want that as well which is helpful.

Such a good place for your dogs overall, I don't know about Mt Eden but Wairua is great, the overnight stay is amazing, they post photos up into facebook everyday and the dogs seem to love it, the staff their are amazing and all are so kind, such a good place to keep your dogs. I would highly recommend
